Somehow, I couldn't relate to either of the support method. My views might be a little far fetched but are the ideal means of removing corruption from the grass root level. This doesn't mean that I am against any one or any other means
So lets get some facts clear. Where did corruption start? It started at our doorstep. We have laid the foundation. Yes, you read it right...It is YOU and ME who are to be blamed along with the corrupt politicians and officials.
Take any field... Education, Construction, Medical, Housing, Taxation, Law & Order, we are the ones who bribed the officials to get our way out and for our own benefit.
We wanted our children to get in to the best of the colleges so we started buying seats. We called them the donation seats. We kept the worthy students out and got non-deserving students to get their seats. The schools/colleges in turn forced the education ministry to increase the seats, offered them enough money to allow them. Seats increased, donations doubled. Big corporate houses wanted all the construction contracts. Wanted to make tall buildings to earn more money. If the FSI was for 10 floors, built 20. Filled our babus mouth with gold/cash/diamonds and offered them share in the buildings.
You would be thinking, whats the fault of the common man then. Well, we too bribed the cops. To save the fine of Rs.200/-, we bribed the cops with Rs.50/-...felt happy too that we saved the money and fooled the cops...But what did we do? We are paying the price today for not paying the fine. We paid the IT officers to save tax. We never allowed them to do their job. We put a bundle of Gandhi notes in a brown envelope and bought their power.
Today, we are facing the heat of the fire that we have lit ourselves. We are the ones who fed them more and more everyday. We are the ones who increased their appetite. Unfortunately, its too late to figure out as to how we managed it. But, we can yet start all over again. Lets hope for a better and cleaner tomorrow...if not for us, for the next generation
I urge you all that along with whatever you do to support the movement, sit back and think as to what can you do to solve this problem at the grass root level. Anna has shown us the way, now its up to you and me to act.
I have decided the method in which I will support the Anna movement. Have you?
Hoping for a corruption free India
